Jobs

  • Volunteers with a skill they can share with others.

We are actively searching for people who can develop a small table top activity group and enthuse people interested in experimenting and developing a variety of skills in a convivial atmosphere:

Wood carving and whittling. We are looking for someone who has skills through their hobby or employment to set this activity up. They must be able to demonstrate using hand tools safely while encouraging the development of skills. To set this activity up we are also asking for donations of appropriate equipment and soft wood before we apply for a grant to buy equipment with.

Textiles; embroidery, sewing, knitting, crochet. We need extra volunteers to add to this team. Any of the above skills would be useful combined with an ability to build others self-esteem while they develop their abilities.

Catering, food service. The food produced will be aimed at providing a home-made hot lunch and a healthy treat for afternoon tea. The budget is low and

food operations must be self-sustaining. All foods will use healthy recipes and allow for food intolerances. Level 2 Food hygiene qualification is essential from day one. This can be completed on-line in your own time. If you are applying for this role you will be on a rota for staffing and must be dependable for your duty day.

Art, drawing. This is a therapeutic activity and we would welcome a person with the ability to motivate others developing their skills while allowing others to chat about life and the universe as they see it. Empathy, sensitivity and knowing when to be silent are personal qualities for this role while experience with different mediums is a desirable professional skill.
