Safeguarding

Our safe recruitment procedure complies with Safeguarding requirements:

  • An interested person comes forward, has a conversation with a trustee and visits our Wednesday group. Appropriate roles and job descriptions are discussed.
  • An application form is completed, which is available to down load from this site. It should be returned to our email address wellspringwarminster@gmail.com or delivered by hand to a trustee, or an address will be provided on request for posting. As many people use the church hall we do not recommend using that postal address.
  • 2 trustees will meet the applicant and have a detailed conversation about the applicant’s motivation, work experiences and personal experience to ensure their suitability for working with adults in vulnerable situations.
  • The applicant may attend Wellspring as a client, getting a feel for the way we do things, until the safe recruitment process is complete; a process which takes several weeks.
  • 2 appropriate referees are contacted. When they return our completed form we will validate the reference by contacting the referee in person.
  • A successful applicant at this stage will be required to produce 3 forms of identification which are necessary for an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service, run by the Home Office) application. When approved is received you will become a volunteer in the agreed role as described in your agreed job description.
